![]() ![]() This won't look as good as replica boots, but your feet's safety should be more worth than good looks.įantastic reply, ty. You can mask them with gaiters, to make them look less modern. If you go into heavy combat or are playing in uneven terrain, wear either safety boots or combat boots. If your character is not engaged in heavy combat, you can go for replica shoes. It was a nice, old lady not sure if she is still working. I know for sure that there is at least one woman in the UK who makes medieval replica shoes with modern support and modern soles. Not sure about how much they support your feet. One of them is I personally don't know anyone who has them, but their boots pop up on many American larp blogs. There are also some shoemakers who can make really nice Larp boots. They have a good sole and some even have a metal cap in front and are thicker around the ankle, so the support your feet. I know some people who have US cavalry boots (or something like that, I can't quite remember what kind of US whatever boots) that look like that: modern, but also pass for good Larp footwear. A lot of people I know bought replica boots with leather soles and asked their local cobbler (is cobbler the right word? The guy who can repair your shoes) to put modern trekking soles on them. There are also replica boots with rubber soles, they are quite nice. The thin sole is also not offering much protection against sharp rocks an the like. Those often have only a thin leather sole, so they won't last as long as modern boots and are not as water proof when worn for a few days. ![]() But there are nice medieval replica boots made out of real leather. ![]() Portraying a real-life culture is great, but don't use insulting stereotypes.Ĭostume boots are usually crappy.Don't use a slur for the Romani people. This restrictions are explained in detail here.
